Angel Thomason was born in Sumter, SC but moved to Rock Hill, SC to attend Winthrop University, where she graduated in May 2016 with a BM in Vocal Music Performance. In her five years at the university, she performed lead roles in children's operas, an operetta, and opera in Winthrop's Opera Theatre program, including Isabel from Pirates of Penzance and Blanche from Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites. She has also performed solos in large choral works such as Carl Orff's Carmina Burana with the Winthrop Chorale, and John Rutter's Magnificat with her church. She has studied voice with Dr. Jennifer Hough and Dr. Jeffrey McEvoy at Winthrop.
In the SC National Associations of Teachers of Singing solo voice competition for students, Angel participated in the local and regional competitions in 2014 and 2015, winning honorable mentions.
Currently, she works at Oakland Baptist church in Rock Hill, SC, singing with the chancel choir there.
